Discover daily ski tours or multiple days touring with a hut-to-hut stay in a stunning high mountain environment of La Grave – La Meije. It all starts on the northern boundary of the largest National Parc in France. For you who wish to experience the freedom, escape the masses and explore a new different world. Skiers Lodge with the surrounding area is an ideal mountain base for ski touring. Some of the classic alpine tours can be accessed just or within a simple one hour hike up into the most spectacular terrain.
Ski touring can be enjoyed at many levels but as soon you move above alpine elevation, it is essential that you appreciate the severity of the environment. Whether your motivation is to do back-country skiing or ski mountaineering in more exposed terrain, the possibilities are endless for tours in the National Park `Le Parc des Ecrins´. The high altitude glaciers ensure good snow conditions all year round. April and May can offer exceptional days and powder falls are not as rare as you might imagine. Good spring snow can invariably be found down to the valley floor. We suggest that unless you are a local experienced winter mountaineer skills, you employ the services of a qualified high mountain guide.
Around mid-March is the period for multiple hut-to-hut ski touring, when the huts are open with guardians. Staying in a mountain hut significantly reduces the amount of gear you need to carry and there’s nothing after a long day of touring knowing that a home-cooked meal is waiting for you and that you’ll be sleeping with a roof over your head.
This period is also when our clients and guides get into touring mode! We, Skiers Lodge, offer Bed&Breakfast and certain evenings Barbecue on the terrace. We offer storage for your extra travel luggage and gear during your touring days spending nights in the huts. Your guide will organize the reservation in a mountain hut and sort out local transportation. Mountain huts can only accommodate a limited number of people. Advance booking is highly recommended. The best magic number is if you are a group of 4 to the guide and gives time to initial plan A for the route and huts. If conditions are not ideal, go for plan B. Each day all guides will attend a morning safety briefing and will provide full support in planning, safety and coordinating to ensure all have a successful day.
We only give quotes per day of the total cost with or without accommodation B&B for ski touring packages from the Skiers Lodge / Guideservice.
We offer ski touring packages from the date of 14th of March until 22th of April 2024. Quotes are given per day for private or public groups and accommodation. The best magic number is if you are a group of 4 to the guide for the touring route and huts. If you are traveling alone and can not organize a group we will put you up on a list. The guide fee per day is 450€ to 500€ depending on commitment and engagement of choose of route by the guide!.
We, Hotel des Alpes – Skiers Lodge, offer Bed&Breakfast and certain evenings barbecue on the terrace. We offer storage for your extra travel luggage and gear during your touring days. Your guide will organize the reservation in a mountain hut and sort out all local logistics.
Mountain huts can only accommodate a limited number of people. Advance booking is highly recommended. The client should pay the accommodation costs direct to the refuge keeper for bed, food and beverage. Also for the guide expenses for food and beverage.
